The study aimed to develop a scale to measure the theoretical knowledge of physical education curriculum game skills among intermediate and secondary school teachers in Zakho City. The descriptive survey method was adopted, and the sample included 215 teachers, divided into construction and application groups. The scale covered five main games: football, basketball, volleyball, handball, and track and field. It was constructed following scientifically recognized steps, ensuring validity, reliability, and objectivity. Results revealed that football scored the highest level of theoretical knowledge, while handball scored the lowest. Statistically significant differences were found between the games and between the two teacher groups, in favor of intermediate school teachers. The study recommends the implementation of training programs to enhance teacher competence—particularly at the secondary level—and updating the curriculum to strengthen its theoretical components.
The research aims to identify the body mass index (BMI) of female students of the four
academic stages in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University
of Zakho, using height and weight measurements to determine the obesity rate among female
students. The body mass index is a mathematical equation calculated by dividing the weight in
kilograms by the square of the height in meters, and it is an indicator used to evaluate the health
status of adults. In this study, criteria specific to adults over the age of 18 were used to assess the
status of female students based on the body mass index, which reflects the degree of obesity. The
study aims to provide those in charge of the educational and health process with accurate
information about the health status of female students, which helps in designing treatment and
awareness programs aimed at improving the health status and reducing the risks of obesity
among female students. The research used appropriate statistical methods to analyze the data,
including calculating arithmetic means and standard deviations for data distribution, in addition
to the skewness coefficient to measure the degree of homogeneity between values. These
methods help provide a comprehensive and accurate picture of the health status of female
students and determine the prevalence of obesity among them, which contributes to developing
effective strategies for intervention and prevention.
